We are a small bakery in Richmond, CA, a town in the San Francisco Bay Area. For the past 10 years we have
been producing over 200,000 products a year for our more than 300 customers. Local and national stores carry
our products including Whole Foods, Costco, Williams-Sonoma, Andronico's, and many many more. For a

Our Premium Handcrafted Desserts
We pride ourselves on baking fresh, all-natural products that are full of flavor and appeal to the eye. To
accomplish this, we produce everything from scratch using top quality, natural ingredients. Our recipes call for real
butter, Dutch-processed chocolate, the freshest fruits and premium nuts. Each dessert is carefully finished by
hand with an artistic, individual design.
We Transform the Lives of People
Rubicon Bakery is part of Rubicon Programs, Inc., a community based non-profit organization that provides
training, employment, housing, and support services to people in the Bay Area who have barriers to employment.
The bakery operates as a business and supports Rubicon Programs in two ways: first, the bakery offers work-skill
training and quality entry-level jobs for individuals who face economic and social hurdles such as homelessness,
mental disability and addiction; second, the bakery contributes all of its revenue, minus its costs, to the agency.
All of the proceeds from Rubicon Bakery’s sales are contributed to Rubicon Programs. In this way, the bakery
supports the other services which are offered to individuals who struggle with mental disabilities, homelessness,
addiction and poverty.
The Rubicon Name
Our name, Rubicon, refers to the irreversible decision that Julius Caesar made when he crossed the river Rubicon
over two thousand years ago. Today, the phrase “crossing the Rubicon” signifies committing to a decisive and
difficult course of action from which one cannot turn back. We aim, through our programs and services, to help
individuals cross their personal Rubicon and build new lives from which they will not turn back.
